sombre ...

Win Soon Fish Head BeeHoon Restaurant
Kuchai Entrepreneur's Park
12 noon

Bryan said I looked a bit sombre while having my bee hoon just now. You think so? Well, he could have called out and said, SMILE or something. Can't expect me to have an upturned mouth at all times, right? Oh well, guess I'm just not a candid shot kind of person. Or perhaps, maybe ... could it be that I was thinking about my self-imposed 10 DAY challenge that starts tomorrow. :( I must say I was too hasty when I said I would start on July 1st. Should have said AUGUST, and not July. Why didn't I say August??? At least if in August, I'd have one month to prepare ...

Prepare what??? a lil voice asks.

Why, to prepare for the challenge la (what else!) The CHALLENGE, which at the time, I had Anthony Robbins as my mentor. HOO-HAH!!! Nope, I haven't forgotten ... The catch phrase during the power-packed seminar.

I AM A FIREWALKER. ASK ME WHY!

Man, were we ferocious then. We were so like WARRIORS, we frightened ourselves. Had so much POWER that was uhh, what was it again - ahhh yes, UN-LEASHED ... within us at that time. Now, where is that power, I ask myself. Wait, wait, Tony did say, several times, in fact the whole seminar was about where the power is ... Guess what? That POWER ... IS - IN - ME!!! It's supposed to be anyway ...

Let me try UN-LEASH it (inhaling deep deep deep into the lungs) (and exhale) ...

I'M ON A 10 DAY DETOX. ASK ME ...

No. Never mind. Don't. Don't ask. Let me see whether I can get through the 1st day. Then You can ask. I might just scrape it and postpone to August. See how la. Thank God I'm female. We're allowed to change our minds frequently, and WITHOUT QUESTION. Ahh there, the female POWER ... it's been unleashed.

Win Soon Fish Head BeeHoon
Kuchai Entrepreneur's Park
12noon

Bryan and I had fish head beehoon for lunch today. This restaurant is quite known for this dish. Grace has been here too. And Steven. There's another restaurant serving the same thing on the same row at the opposite end, but don't think it's as famous as this one. You see that? It's all in the name ... WIN Soon. Even if don't win NOW, will still win SOON. Sooner or later, still WIN.

The other one, uh ... the other one, what's it called again??? Can't remember the name now. Ahh, You see ... can't even remember the name. What sort of impact has that place on me??? No impact whatsoever. Has not won me over. Did not even attempt to try to WIN me over. Whether SOON or not soon. :D  It's all in the name, I tell you. Look at PappaRich. Pappa's Rich. All over town, here and there, sprouts little branches of pappa's rich cafe. How not to be rich like that? You want to try not to be rich also cannot. As opposed to the other cafe that calls itself Old Something ... like Old News. Old Old Old. Hehe. :D I used to hang out at that Old Place. After awhile, I wanted to check out something New. Hmm, PappaRich. It's a good name, I must say. Turn your antennaes on. You'd never know. You might just hear about MamaRicher one of these days. Could be mine ... Yeah I wish ... :D

thin not thick ...

4pm @ My Toast, Gardens

After the show (Toy Story 3), which we enjoyed very much, with caramel popcorn (see? eat some more), we had tea at My Toast. Not that we were hungry but it was after all tea time. We ordered 2 cups of teh si panas and shared a set of toasted bread with peanut butter. There must be an order of food of some sort or otherwise the table wouldn't look right. :D This time, we consciously made the decision to take the THIN sliced bread instead of the thick one. That's already the beginning of some progress, we thought. Am surprisingly looking forward to my Detox regime that starts on Thursday July 1. About time, really need to spring clean the body. :D

12noon @ Canton-I, Gardens

Don't be mislead. This is not a large dinner sized plate. It's the smaller side plate. Hayley and I shared a plate of wan tan dumpling noodles, prawn chee cheong fun and bean curd skin (dim sum). Told her been eating way too much. June has way too many celebrations in my family. So, we have decided to go on a detox. Yup, Anthony Robbins' program, 10 days Detox. Did that before, every now and then, and it's good. Have to eliminate meat, salt, sugar, dairy products, breathe right, do some exercise, take green drinks. Let the digestives take a break. So anyway, we're each other's Detox buddies. You need a Buddy when You're on a regime like this. Am getting Bryan to do it too. :D

Starts Thursday, July 1st. Let's see if the Bollywood tummy flattens out. Not used to having that, crept in without my knowing, although may look good now in a saree. :D

12noon @ Canton-I, Gardens

Went to Hallmark to get a card for Madam Yoon. She sent me two handmade and hand coloured cards. Two because, after she sent the first one, she called Bryan to ask if I had received it. At the time, Bryan said, No. So, she sent a second one. They're beautiful - so identical, don't know how she did them. Had brunch at Canton-I. No, didn't order drinks since we had our fix already. :D First time there, took photo. See the background? Nice huh.

hulala ...

Sunday, June 27, 2010
2pm @ 100 (degrees) C

10 different choices of soup base to choose from, and a jaw-dropping amount of selection of sauces for the steamboat. we ordered chilly stuffed kampong fish on the side (for me) and fried oyster (for justine). turned out they didn't have the oyster dish, so the waitress recommended another dish, called HuLaLa ... what a name. Not sure if the spelling is right but it sounded like that. We said okay, we'll try that. It's that dish on the top right of photo. yeah, looks like some kind of odd-shaped ball from far, i know. could only identify cheese and lala inside the ball, all wrapped in a piece of bread and DEEP FRIED. very high-caloried side dish. aiyaiyai ... justine liked it though ...

2pm @ 100 (degrees) C Restaurant
Kuchai Entrepreneurs's Park

this is a really cute restaurant. steamboat, BBQ and teppanyaki. guess the birthday celebration is still not over, i'm embarrassed to say. bryan was not around on my birthday so he kinda felt like he had to bring us to a special place. funny thing was, when he first asked what we wanted for lunch, i had mentioned steamboat at ikano cos i wanted a light lunch, didn't want to burden the digestives anymore than i have to. he said it was too far and on top of that, the mall would be packed on a sunday. so after suggesting and dismissing several makan place, (air-conned, not packed, nice atmosphere so we could relax and unwind at the same time, were the 3 compulsory criteria) (don't mean to make it sound like a spa) we finally decided to drive into kuchai entrepreneur's park, with the intention of going to yummy duck, haven't been there for a while, we said, for just a simple chicken rice lunch. yeah, i know right ... eat chicken in a duck plc. after parking the car, right opposite papparich, we were walking to yummy duck, and that's how we discovered the above plc. peeped in and we were lured into have an uh, experience, there ... :D

having a jolly great ice-cream time with my ex-students and their mummies. Keenan with mummy Linda (behind him) and Chloe with mummy Jamie (behind her). am happy that we've kept in contact, it's just so good to know the progress of the children. yeah, the children - had to refrain from squeezing them when i first saw them at mph cos didn't want to scare them and have them think, teacher lynn has gone crazy ... :D we had such a nice time together, we've decided to it again ...

Friday, June 25, 2010
4:30pm @ mph, bangsar village

dropped justine at her class and head off to meet jamie and chloe in mph. keenan was with them at the time. love this photo of them - they look so high tech. sigh, our children today ... bryan says when he was that age, his mother gave him a large empty box once, and he played with that the whole day. hard to imagine, right? one whole day, play with an empty box??? when i was that age, i attempted to bury my alsation puppies alive. yeah, actually dug a hole, shallow la, at that young age how to dig deep, right ... put the puppies in, and throw back the sand, just to watch them wriggle out. horrible i know, but then we didn't have much entertainment then.

we enjoyed the show very much. quite entertaining. apart from another 2 cinema-goers, jus and i practically owned the cinema for the 2 hours. have never been a loyal fan of tom cruise (fleeting yes, but not loyal) but must say he did look quite good. no signs of aging. cameron diaz too. her skin looks so gorgeous. line-less. youthful. after the movie, we went for ice-cream. shared a tub of 2 large scoops of rum & raisin, and ... forgot the flavour of other one now. what's with all the memory lapse today... :(

Flatulence ...

Tuesday, June 22, 2010
8pm @ Fish & Co

Justine and I took Bryan out to dinner at Fish & Co, Bangsar Village 2, for a belated Father's Day dinner. After having such delicious BBQ at the waterfall, we re-ignited our appetite for grilled food and ordered the Seafood Platter. The decoration on the top was a small portion of caesar salad with salmon, uh, designed ... in that position by Bryan. It was after the raw salmon, I believe, that gave Bryan and myself flatulence. Stomach was so uncomfortable and felt like bursting with excess air. I had this problem the last time I went for Japanese buffet and overate the salmon sushi. This time, I only had 2 slim slices of salmon, but the feeling was the same.

The time was 12:30 midnight. After tossing and turning in bed, and pressing the tummy down to reduce the discomfort, I asked Bryan, shall we just take the FloraGuard and have a story to tell tomorow??? (which means today) Bryan said ok. So, went to the kitchen and made a glass of FloraGuard. Thankfully we still had about one tablespoon left. So scraped off every bit of the powder on the bottom of the bottle, and made the drink. Drank half, and gave the other half to Bryan. Less than 15 minutes later, the balloon bloated feeling disappeared. Bryan was already asleep. Had to wake him up, and ask, how's your stomach? Is the pain gone? He said, yeah gone. 15 minutes -  Yup, I actually came out to the dining room to check the clock on the wall.

brunch ...

Sunday, June 20, 2010 @ 11:30am

We had scrambled eggs and bread for breakfast. Toasted some more garlic bread. Cleared the place and packed up before leaving. Right outside the "jungle" are some shop houses, one of which sells the typical merbok wan tan mi. Home made noodles, very different from the normal wan tan mi noodles that we're used to. So, even though we had taken our breakfast, except for me (I had to decline bc the 3 pieces of lamb chops still not fully digested), we HAD TO take the noodles before leaving. It's our tradition ...
