Day 59 ... Ipoh Hor Fun

SG took care of the chicken.
Trimmed the fat with surgical precision.

The prawns were at my mercy.
De-veined them with the ability of an amateur.

Preparing the soup base was simple. We boiled 3 thigh-drumsticks with filtered water. Added a whole onion and some garlic cloves. And Seasalt. In the pressure cooker. Was ready in about half an hour.

Meanwhile, SG "loosens" the hor fun by running through the rice noodles,
shaking and tossing them with her fingers.

The soup is read when the red button on the pressure cooker drops.
Remove the chicken. Ooh, so very tender.

Shredding the chicken is easy because the flesh just falls off the bones.

Time to dip the prawns in the hot boiling soup to cook just lightly.

Ingredients are all ready.

Rinse the hor fun in boiling water, before transferring to individual bowls.

Pour the soup over the hor fun.

IPOH HOR FUN

My oh my, we couldn't believe the hor fun soup could taste so delicious.
Bryan says you could taste the flavour of EACH ingredient.
Justine says she and the girls liked the chicken - TeeTeeS - tender, tasty and soft.
SG liked the chilly flakes. I loved the prawns - cooked just under tender by SG.
That's my bowl by the way. My first one. :D

Thumbs-up ...

Daniel would be putting his thumbs-up too. That's him watching over his sister.

Carol came a bit later, when we were all having our second bowls.
She had to prepare dinner for Kish before she came.

After dinner, we had the delightful moist chocolate cake for dessert, with coffee.
Prepared a jug of chilled Hemoberry & BioFruity after that -
a refreshing drink to ZEST up the evening further. :D
