Day 153 : Tamarind Prawns

TAMARIND PRAWNS
ASSAM PRAWNS


This evening, we prepared a simple prawn dish. Assam Prawns. Plus a simple vegetable soup. Here's how we did it.


3 Simple Steps :

1. Season Prawns.

2. Fry Prawns.

3. Boil Soup.


Fresh prawns.


We forgot to de-vein the prawns. :( Just realizing now from the photos.

1. Season Prawns.
Marinate with assam jawa, shoyu and lime juice.

2. Fry Prawns.
Saute shallots and garlic in sesame seed oil until fragrant.

 Add the prawns.

Fry Fry Fry ...

Add water. Add brown sugar.
Toss in chillies.
Close lid and allow to simmer for a bit.

3. Boil Soup.

Meanwhile, prepare the soup.
Fill a small pot with filtered water. Put to boil.
Add small anchovies (pre-soaked in hot water).
Add cabbage. Add seasalt and shoyu. 
Add one sweet plum.
Boil on low heat until cabbage is ready.

The soup is absolutely delicious!
