we had chinese dumplings (chang) that bryan's mother brought from kuantan,

at the living area that overlooks the waterfall ...

after breakfast, we started our journey to sungai petani. we're going to the waterfalls today. stopped by giant to do some serious food shopping.

checked out from the hotel. grace met us at 9am and took us to a nearby coffee shop for breakfast. the above char kueh teow was one of our side dishes. our main was a bowl of noodles from the stall that was rated as #10 in the Best Food In Penang ratings. (photo unclear)

after dinner, jus had a tub of fruit yogurt and 2 donuts.

met up with grace and miranda for dinner. take a look at the tandoori set!!! absolutely tantalising and spoon lickin' good ... not sure what's with all the forks and spoons ...

6:45pm ... on the way to dinner, kia kien swung by his dept at usm to show us his landscaped garden. after 4 hours all cramped up in the car, it sure felt good to get out and be among the greens and just s-T-r-E-t-C-h ...

hotel ...

after tea, we drove to the hotel. arrived at b-suite @ 4pm. checked into adjoining rooms, #1613 and #1615. rooms are spacious. could pitch a tent inside.

carrot cake ...

and char kueh kark hare hiam chiou (fried carrot cake with chilly) ... hmm, yum!

cendol ...

we arrived in penang (juru toll) at 2:30pm. drove to penang road for the mich awaited cendol ...

hor fun ...

we stopped by ipoh to have lunch. reached ipoh toll at 12 noon. a wonderful hor fun meal with fragrant steamed chicken and crunchy beansprouts.

Our weekend trip to the waterfalls in kedah. sungai petani to be more precise. we were gonna stay one night in penang, and going over to the waterfalls the next day. bryan was driving, his mother in the front seat, justine, myself and aunty hayley behind.
