best congee ...

7pm @ Home

By 5pm, was a bit hungry. Had the 2 same shakers of green drink today, for breakfast and lunch, except that I had reduced the protein powder. Today's my 4th day, and I'm going to have some dinner later, so the reduction was intentional. Bryan was making porridge in the slow cooker, and said dinner wouldn't be ready till about 7pm. Made me a nice beer mug of fresh apple and carrot juice (no added water), topped with 3 cubes of ice and a fancy straw. :D

When dinner was ready, I took my first taste, and honestly, that was like dee best porridge in the world! Truly, the best I have ever tasted. The smoothness of the texture, the fragrance fried garlic oil, the organic shoyu, the freshly marinated fish and scallops, were out of this world. Man, even the parsley and flower-cut carrots, meant more for decoration, were delicious. No salt was added as in accordance to Tony Robbins' Program. Shoyu's not counted, I guess. A much healthier choice than refined salt anyway. A little fried garlic oil as a condiment is okay. I had 2 bowls of Bryan's delicious congee. Not immediately, about half an hour after the first one. Didn't want to shock the system. :D

Just remembered that I forgot to do my breathing exercises today. Darn. Need to go stand by the window now, and force myself to do the "inhale, hold and exhale" exercise ... :D

12pm @ Midvalley Mall

We were at Jusco, Carol was looking for a pillow for Kish, her dog. After checking out the Pet Shop, we couldn't find one that's suitable. So we went to check out Jusco Third Floor, Household Dept. Got her a pillow from there. :D Kish is probably the only dog I know which sleeps on pillows meant for humans. Hah. While waiting for Carol at the cashier, was at the flowers area. Took a snapshot of the above colourful ball-like plant decoration. I'm sure it has a better name but at the point of writing this entry, I'm not sure what it is. :D Energy level is pretty okay. Was careful not to exert though. Was able to walk around Gardens and Midvalley for about 2 hours before coming home, carrying a large, not so light, plastic bag for Mum. She bought some music books and yeah, pillows (too). :D

Day 4 ...

12pm @ Oasis Food Court, Midvalley Mall

Day 4 today. Went out with Carol and Mum. After the Pet Shop, and walking around Jusco, Mum brought us to the Food Court. She insisted I had to try the Portugese Grilled Fish. Mum and Carol had already eaten before they picked me up from home. Told her I'd try that another day, because "I just ate." No point telling her I'm on a detox. Will waste energy trying to explain, defend and convince her later on. Yeah, in that order ... explain why I'm on it, defend why I'm on it and convince why I'm on it. Easier to say nothing and just assure her I'd try the Portugese dish another day, because "Mum, I'm still very full." Carol knows though, so she got us coconut water and 2 tubs of mixed fruits.

On the side, I really am surprised that I wasn't hungry even though I was at a food court and each table was positioned close by. So close you could see and smell everything that patrons were eating. I wasn't tempted, funny enough. Maybe I just didn't want to break the detox chain. I could actually say No. Wow. I didn't know I had that sort of - determination - when it came to food. I love food, have an insane passion for eating, am overly crazy for buffets and eat all you cans. So going through the detox this easily, was a pleasant surprise. A relief too, you might say.

I had my shaker of The Green Drink in the morning. Being the 4th day, I reduced the scoop of protein powder from 2 to 1. The rest, probiotics, fiber and green barley powder were the same amount. By the way, I only take one-third scoop of the fiber powder each time. Could never take a whole scoop as the fiber tends to thicken on me, and gets me all nauseated when I attempt to drown it down. As Bryan says, do what works for me. :D
