Day 136 : Fried Turnip

 FRIED TURNIP
Bangkuang Char (Hokkien Dialect)

My mother calls me this afternoon and says to go over to her place for dinner. Bryan is in Penang. So Justine and I went over to her condo, which is the next block to ours, at about 7pm.

My mother has cooked curry chicken and a turnip dish.

On this entry, I'm gonna write on the turnip dish. It's a really nice dish to eat with rice, or it could be the filling for a salad wrap. As my mother did not take any photos of the process (obviously), I'm gonna curi some photos from the internet.

The above photo is her dish though. :D

3 Simple Step :

1.  Shred the Veg.

2. Rinse the Veg.

3. Fry the Veg

Bright Green Chinese Celery.

 Vibrant Orange Carrot.

 Pure White Turnip.

3. Fry the Turnip
Saute garlic and shallots until fragrant.
Add prawns.
Add organic shoyu and pepper.
Add turnip.
Add some water and allow to simmer.
When the turnip looks soft,
add the carrots and celery.

Carrots and celery are added later,
to retain the vibrant colors.

Simple enough, right?

Curry Chicken is always a hit in my mother's place.

 Bon Appetite!

This morning, I had my shake of The Green Drink
fried kuey teow for lunch, cheese sandwich for tea,
the above for dinner and instant noodles for supper.
No juice. No fruit. Sigh, a temporary setback.

Time of Posting : Tuesday 16/11 @ 8:20 am
