6pm @ Home
Today is Sunday ... :D
We normally have just a ONE large dish on Sundays. The white pyrex above is about 10 inches X 12 inches in size. Had my first green drink this morning, but missed the second one at lunch time. Was clearing out and cleaning the fridge after coming home from Mass late morning. By the time I was done, it was about 3pm. Decided to have an early dinner then. Didn't want to spoil my appetite.
1. Made a no-hassle crock pot chicken dish. Removed skin from the chicken thighs before putting them into the pot. Added potato cubes, carrots, shitakii mushrooms (sliced and without the stand). Sea salt and pepper, sesame seed oil, shoyu and black sauce. Also added some tomato sauce. Closed lid, and put the timer on high. Would take about 2 hours or so. Even though no water is added, this dish would always end up with its own gravy.
Sliced some red and yellow pepper bells. And tomatoes. Sprigs of coriander leaves. To add on as fresh vegetables when the dish is ready.
2. Pressure cooked brown rice & the remainder of jasmine rice that we used during our waterfall trip. Added several cloves of garlic (with skin on).
3. Water-fried cabbage and carrots in sea salt and shoyu. At the same time in a separate small pot, fried one large onion (sliced) in sesame oil till brown.
Was hungry about 5:30pm. Fortunately, chicken was ready by the time. Scooped the rice and placed it on one side of the pyrex. Emptied the contents of the crock pot on to the other side. Scattered the bell peppers on top and roughly arranged the tomatoes on the sides. Added the fragrant coriander leaves for contrast. Then, scooped the mixed water-fried cabbage and carrots and placed on top of the rice, with the sweet fried onion on top. Goes well with the garlic in the rice, and gravy from the chicken. Squeeze one end of the garlic and it would pop right out of its skin. Mash it with the fork on your plate, and just mix with rice, gravy etc.
To sum up : One shaker of The Green Drink today & one meal. Fruits (fuji apple). Juices and Water. :D
