Bryan was outstation. So normally for a quickie dinner, I tend to go with pasta. It's really easy to do and no fuss.

1. Found a can of sardines in the kitchen cabinet, and decided to use that for the sauce. So opened up the can, poured contents onto a bowl. Removed the bones from the sardines so that the sauce will have a smoother texture. Sardines all ready. Make the sauce.

2. Fried garlic and shallots. When fragrant, poured the sardines in. Added half a small can of tomato puree. Bryan's not around to do the puree-ing, so have to use puree in a can. :D Do what works for You. (I don't like to use the blender, the noise it makes is one thing, the washing after that ... urgh! Tedious with the little blades and all.) Added about a mug of water in. Added seasalt. Basil herbs. Pepper.

3. In another pot, boiled the spaghetti till HALF-done. Added seasalt and extra virgin olive oil in the water while boiling.

4. When the pasta was half-done, drained, and poured into the tomato sauce pot. Mixed them well.

5. Scooped onto plate. Garnished with nori seaweed (cut thin long slices) and pine nuts. And a slice of lemon.

Absolutely kindergarden standard. Very simple to do. Anyone can do this!
